The fourth mohair sale of 2024 again saw keen demand across all types, with 96% of lots being sold of the large 190 tons offering.
Although Kid prices were slightly easier, the Young goat and adult types remained firm despite the very large offering.

The second sale of 2024 saw keen demand across all types. With all lots contested resulting in a 99% clearance against the large 174,000 kgs on offer. Following the extremely strong sale on the 12/02, the market has risen 6-7% across the board with Fine Young goats being the most in demand.

The first sale of the summer season 2024 saw a demand on young goat and shortage on adult with good demand from all buyers resulting in a clearance of 98% against an offering of 109,000kgs.
Kids – 5% dearer
Young Goat – 10%-15% dearer
Adult – 12%-14% dearer
The second sale of the 2024 summer season will take place on 5th March 2024.

The 6th winter sale of the season saw a good quality offering of 140 tons, with 92% sold.
Overall, the market was strong increasing by 3-4% for most types, while kids remained firm.
The final winter sale will be held on 5th December.

The 5th winter sale of the season saw 117,447kgs on offer, resulting in a strong clearance of 88%.
Young goats were in strong demand with an increase of 3-4%. All other qualities were firm. The stronger rand means a rise overall in USD terms.
The next sale will be held on 14th November with approx. 160 tons on offer.

Kid types were firm, with all others easing slightly. However, the market was more or less firm in USD terms.

The 2nd winter sale of the season saw 138,662kg on offer with 81% clearance.
While kid types were strong, up 2%, coarser types were down 2-5%.
This sale followed a strong Basuto sale on Monday 4th September where all types were well sought after.
The next Cape sale will be held on 26th September 2023.

The first winter sale of the season, 15th August, saw a mixed offering of 103,985kg with an 89% clearance.
While kid types were strong considering the worldwide economic situation, and holidays in Europe, other types were down 5-6% in rand terms.
The next auction will be held on 5th September 2023.
