Sustainability & Responsibilities

Our Group Responsibility

SIL Holdings Ltd is a family-owned business with 50 years’ experience in the speciality fibre, yarn and weaving sector.

As a group we are committed to operating responsibly, focusing on reducing energy use, minimising waste, sourcing materials responsibly and improving efficiency across our operations.

Sustainability

The fundamentals of Seal International

Natural Fibres & Responsible Sourcing

Specialising in natural fibres including wool, cashmere, mohair and alpaca we recognise that there is a responsibility to care for the land, animals, and the people involved at every stage of production. We prioritise sourcing from farms that uphold strong animal welfare standards and responsible land management practices. Healthy grazing systems and careful herd management are essential not only for fibre quality, but for long term environmental sustainability.

Certified Standards & Traceability

Through our internationally recognised certifications such as RWS (Responsible Wool Standard), RMS (Responsible Mohair Standard), RAS (Responsible Alpaca Standard), SFA

(Sustainable Fibre Alliance), GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) and Oeko-Tex, our group businesses prioritise supply chain traceability from farm to finished fabrics. These standards support animal welfare, environmental stewardship, and transparent chain of custody practices. This documented and certified process provides clear visibility of the origin of our fibres and is practical and measurable. We believe verified standards, independent audits, and transparent reporting are essential to supporting long-term sustainability in the textile industry.

Responsibility

Minimising our impact

Responsible Manufacturing

In our manufacturing processes, we focus on reducing water and energy use, minimising chemical inputs and managing wastewater responsibly. We continually review our production methods to improve efficiency and reduce waste whilst maintaining the performance and integrity of our products.

Supply Chain Responsibility

We work closely with our suppliers to promote transparency, traceability and fair employment practices throughout the supply chain and this is our ongoing commitment to responsible growth and continuous improvement.

Key Focus

Our sustainability is in our strategy

In Summary…

Our sustainability efforts are focused on four key areas:

Responsible sourcing: Prioritising sustainable fibres and working with suppliers who meet environmental and social compliance standards.

Resource efficiency: Reducing water and energy consumption across dyeing, finishing and production processes.

Waste Reduction: Minimising fibre, yarn and fabric waste increasing recycling and reuse.

Safe and Ethical Operations: Maintaining safe working conditions and upholding fair employments practices throughout our supply chain.

We believe that by integrating sustainability into our strategy we will build a resilient business that supports long-term economic, environmental and social well-being.
