The 1st auction of 2026 and the capes summer season opened the market up with strong competition across all types on a small offering of 74,000kgs. Despite the stronger rand prices more than held their own. Increasing by 3-9%. Combined with the Rand strength some prices were 12% dearer in USD terms.

 

Compared to the last auction:

Kids – Up to 3% dearer

Young Goats – Up to 9% dearer

Adults – Firm

 

The next auction will be held on 3rd March 2026.
